Customer Agent: Where It Works and How It Identifies Users

Can Customer Agent work if our website is on WordPress instead of HubSpot CMS?

Yes. Customer Agent does not require your main website to be on HubSpot CMS. It can be embedded on a WordPress site using the HubSpot tracking script. What matters is where your data lives and whether the agent can access the right signals. Using WordPress for your site and HubSpot for landing pages, forms, and CRM data is a very common setup.

Can Customer Agent identify users without asking them to enter information?

In many cases, yes. If a visitor is already known to HubSpot through cookies or prior interactions, the agent can recognize them without prompting. Depending on the scenario, it may still ask for email verification to confirm identity.

What is the overall purpose of Customer Agent?

Customer Agent is designed to handle common, repetitive support questions so your team can focus on higher-value work. The goal is to scale support by delivering fast, accurate, and consistent responses using your existing help content and knowledge base.

Prospecting Agent: Targeting, Contacts, and Data Inputs

Can the Prospecting Agent find specific contacts at a company?

Not in the sense of discovering new people. The Prospecting Agent cannot find contacts you don’t already have. What it can do is auto-enroll and prioritize the right contacts from the companies you’re targeting, based on the roles and signals already present in your CRM.

Can the Prospecting Agent pull information from manual contact notes?

Yes. The Prospecting Agent considers recent engagement activity tied to contact records, including notes, along with form submissions, page views, calls, meetings, and email engagement. That said, notes are unstructured, so structured properties remain the most reliable way to drive consistent prospecting and targeting outcomes.

What usually causes teams to be disappointed with prospecting outputs early on?

In most cases, it’s not the agent. It’s the setup. When targeting, ICP signals, or data structure aren’t clearly defined, outputs tend to feel generic. Once those foundations are in place, the same tools usually perform much better with far less effort.

Brand Voice, Content, and Internal Knowledge

Can I use different brand voices if I manage multiple brands in one HubSpot portal?

Yes, if you’re using multiple Brand Kits in HubSpot. Each brand kit can have its own voice and guidelines, which allows AI outputs to stay aligned to the correct brand when things are set up properly.

Can I upload internal content like an employee handbook for internal FAQs or support?

Yes, with guardrails. Internal content can be used for internal-facing use cases, but it should be clearly scoped and separated from public-facing customer content to avoid unintended exposure.

Usage, Credits, and Trust

How are credits consumed when using Customer Agent?

Customer Agent typically costs 100 credits per conversation. Exact usage rules and thresholds are outlined in HubSpot’s credits documentation, which should be used as the source of truth.

What is HubSpot’s position on data privacy and AI training?

HubSpot has clearly documented its approach to AI, data privacy, and trust. Customer data is not used to train public AI models, and HubSpot provides detailed guidance on how data is handled. For specifics, HubSpot’s AI Trust and Privacy documentation is the best reference.
